Casa/Pre-School Program

The goal of the Casa/Pre-School program is the development of the whole child. We strive to develop the children's self-esteem and to cultivate their natural desire to learn by fixing their attention on a task they are performing with their hands.

Using the Montessori Method of Education, the child’s development and growth are achieved through exercises in:

  • Practical Life
  • Sensorial Education
  • Language Arts
  • Mathematics
  • Arts (Music, Visual Art)
  • Physical Education
  • French
  • Cultural Studies

The Montessori classroom is based on "freedom of movement", where the teacher is a guide, introducing the materials appropriate to each child's individual abilities and interests. The "Prepared Environment" is organized to meet all children's developmental needs: freedom, purposeful activity and cultural involvement. The whole Montessori environment is designed to complement the activities and the children's participation in them. The classrooms are furnished with child-size furnishings, floor, tablemats, and open shelving for apparatus, materials and books.

Each apparatus enables the children to attain a determined goal and achieve true independence, self-confidence, self-control, muscular co-ordination, good concentration skills and a sense of order.

The Montessori program accommodates different abilities, thus avoiding boredom. It starts with concrete hands-on activities, which give a solid grounding for later abstractions.

Outdoor play

Our students have regular outdoor play times taking full advantage of the beautiful natural surroundings. These times allow the children to develop and strengthen their physical abilities as well as their social skills and new friendships.

Meals

All meals are included in the full-day fee. Meals are prepared in our own kitchen, by our own chef and meet all of your child’s required daily nutritional needs.

Nap time (2 ½ YEARS)

Our facility is equipped with cots for naptime. Parents are required to supply a blanket and pillow as children often have a special attachment to these items.
